Shortcodes Receive inbound SMS with your own shortcode
A shortcode is a number that your IOT Labs account can receive text messages on. There are two types of shortcodes - shared or dedicated.
Shared Shortcodes
Shared Shortcodes come from a pool of numbers which multiple businesses access at the same time. Keywords are available for an additional fee.
Dedicated Shortcodes
When you send an SMS with a Dedicated Shortcode, you will be sending a message from a number exclusive to your business. This means that you will have a consistent number that you can use on all your marketing materials. Customers will be able to remember who you are, and have the option of saving your business as a contact. Dedicated Shortcodes are especially helpful for SMS competitions, and to establish a strong mobile brand.
